QUEZON CITY, Philippines — The Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) received special recognition from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) for its unwavering support in providing scholarships to the bureau’s personnel and their dependents, as well as its contributions to their career advancement.
The award was presented during the BJMP’s 33rd Anniversary Celebration on July 1, 2024, at the Tejeros Hall, AFP Commissioned Officers’ Clubhouse, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City. PCCR President Ma. Angelica Lei Bautista and Executive Vice President Karim Bangcola accepted the award from Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Atty. Benjamin C. Abalos Jr.

PCCR stood out as the only academic institution recognized by the BJMP during the event, solidifying its role as a key partner in advancing education and professional opportunities within the law enforcement sector. The recognition highlighted the college’s commitment to accessible education and active participation in shaping the future of criminal justice professionals.
The BJMP’s anniversary theme, “Makatao at Maka-Diyos na Serbisyong Publiko Tungo sa Maunlad, Maayos at Progresibong Pagbabago”, underscored the importance of public service rooted in compassion, progress, and order – values that align with PCCR’s mission to develop highly skilled and ethically driven law enforcers.
Through its scholarship programs, PCCR continues to strengthen its ties with various law enforcement agencies, empowering BJMP personnel and their families with quality education and career opportunities. The recognition further cements PCCR’s status as a leading institution in criminology and criminal justice education in the Philippines.
