Message from The Senior Vice President
Dr. Noel A. Sergio, DBA, FBE, CLSSYB
Dear BATANG 641,
Welcome to the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR)—a community built on a strong tradition of criminology education and a commitment to preparing students for the realities of the world they will serve. PCCR has a long history, but we also understand that tradition alone is not enough. The world is changing, and so must the way we educate, prepare, and support our students.
This is at the heart of our PCCR 2031 vision.
We want PCCR to remain relevant, responsive, and ready for the future. We want our graduates to leave the institution not only with a degree, but with the knowledge, skills, character, and confidence to make a difference in their profession and in society.
At PCCR, Quality Assurance is not simply about compliance or accreditation. It is about making sure that what we do truly benefits our students. We continuously review our programs, teaching practices, systems, and services to identify what works, what needs improvement, and what we can do better. Quality is a continuous process. There will always be something we can improve—and that mindset is important as we move toward PCCR 2031.
Crime is changing. Technology has created new ways for people to commit crimes, hide evidence, target victims, and operate across borders. Cybercrime and digital threats are now part of the reality that future criminology professionals must understand. This is why PCCR continues to innovate its academic programs, including our direction toward CyberCriminology.
We want our students to understand not only traditional criminology, but also the emerging challenges brought by technology. CyberCriminology is part of our effort to prepare graduates who can respond to the changing nature of crime and public safety.
BATANG 641, your time at PCCR is more than completing subjects and earning a degree. It is a time to develop your knowledge, build your character, discover your strengths, and prepare yourself for the responsibilities that come with your chosen profession. Take advantage of every opportunity to learn. Challenge yourself. Learn from your mistakes. Be open to new ideas. And never lose sight of why you chose this path.
As we work toward PCCR 2031, we want you to be part of that journey—not simply as students, but as future professionals who will help shape the future of criminology and public safety.
Mabuhay ang BATANG 641.
