MANILA, Philippines — Over 6,000 high school and college students from the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) gathered at the San Andres Sports Complex on October 4, 2024, for “PISELubong 2024,” the institution’s annual school opening event.
PISELubong serves as PCCR’s official orientation program for new and returning students for the school year 2024-2025, bringing them together as they begin the academic year. The event opened with a ceremonial march led by ROTC officers carrying the Philippine and PCCR flags, followed by prayers, the national anthem, and the recitation of the institution’s vision, mission, core values, quality policies, and objectives.
PCCR President Ma. Angelica Lei Bautista addressed students from the High School, Criminology, Forensic Science, and Industrial Security Management programs, highlighting the importance of discipline and academic excellence. She encouraged them to strive for leadership roles in their chosen fields and engaged the audience in a question-and-answer session focused on student engagement in academics and extracurricular activities.
Throughout the event, performances were delivered by the PCCR Pep Squad, JFAB Songfest alumni Erika De Guzman, Emmanuel Tura, Roniel Vargas, and the PCCR Serpent Eagle Dance Troupe. Students were also invited to participate in “Capture the PISE Moment,” a digital initiative encouraging them to share photos and videos on TikTok. The gathering concluded with performances by the PCCR Chorale and Pop Band.
PISELubong 2024 marked the beginning of the academic year, connecting students and fostering school pride.
