PASAY CITY, Philippines – The Philippine College of Criminology (PCCR) held the much-anticipated 2024 Grand Alumni Homecoming on November 9, 2024, at Casa Ibarra, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.
The gathering, which capped PCCR’s hosting of the very first Philippine Criminology Week celebration, a week-long event brought together criminology students, professionals, and key stakeholders from across the country, coincided with PCCR’s
70th founding anniversary.
Seventy distinguished alumni across PCCR’s seven decades were recognized for their outstanding contributions to law enforcement, public service, judiciary, academe, and private practice. Among those honored were Police Director General Nicanor Bartolome, former National Police chief (Ph.D. ’09); Police Major General Lucas Managuelod, lawyer and CEO of the Public Safety Savings & Loan Association, Inc. (Ph.D. ’98); former Tarlac governor and philanthropist Margarita “Tingting” Cojuangco (Ph.D. ’10); Manila Vice Mayor Yul Servo (B.S. ’98); Director Jaime Santiago of the NBI (B.S. ’88); and Senator Robin Padilla (B.S. ’01).
PCCR’s 70th anniversary coffee table book, “A Legacy of Excellence: Pioneering 70 Years of Criminology and Criminal Justice Education,” was also launched during the event. The book chronicles PCCR’s contribution to the advancement of criminology education, its role in shaping law enforcement in the Philippines and beyond, and the achievements of its distinguished alumni.
The evening’s festivities featured a reunion of alumni from various generations, celebrating their shared legacy and commitment. Attendees enjoyed a special musical performance by Cooky Chua, frontwoman of Color It Red.
